Academic All Stars

We are excited to extend the HOBY Academic All-Stars deadline to February 28, 2018! Graduating HOBY alumni and volunteers can apply to become a HOBY Academic All-Star and be formally recognized for accomplishments in the classroom.

A HOBY Academic All-Star will complete 12th grade or earn their college degree by the spring of 2018 and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Academic All-Stars will receive a congratulatory letter with a certificate and official HOBY honor cord to wear at graduation. In addition, each participant will be included on the Academic All-Stars page of the HOBY website until the next program year. We strongly encourage you to list this recognition on your college or related job applications.

Please submit your application materials online by February 28, 2018. There is a non-refundable $57.95 application fee that must be included with the application. Please carefully review all qualifications and application items listed below before applying

  1. Must have attended an official HOBY program (Leadership Seminar, World Leadership Congress, Advanced Leadership Academy, International Program) in 2017 or earlier.
  2. Must have a cumulative weighted 3.5+ GPA on a 4.0 scale. (If your school does not use a 4.0 scale, please work with your guidance counselor to convert your grades accordingly. If your school does not weigh GPAs, please use cumulative unweighted GPA.)
  3. We require an uploaded scan of your transcript that includes the following: Your full name, school’s name, weighted GPA, and the date.
  4. Application, transcript, and non-refundable fee must be submitted online by the extended deadline of February 28, 2018.

We will update the Academic All-Stars Standouts webpage by April 2018. Award packages can also be expected to arrive by April. We encourage you to take advantage of this outstanding opportunity! So many HOBY alumni stand out in school and in their communities, and we are eager to applaud your accomplishments!
