“I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.”
These words of Dr. Albert Schweitzer, who inspired Hugh O’Brian so many years ago, likewise serve as an inspiration to those of us who volunteer for HOBY. By joining the World Leadership Congress (WLC) volunteer team, you have a chance to make a profound difference in the lives of hundreds of outstanding young leaders. At the same time, you will learn invaluable lessons in leadership yourself through hands-on challenges that will stretch you to your physical and emotional limits, ultimately leaving an indelible mark that will forever change your life for the better. Given the depth of their commitment to service, as Dr. Schweitzer predicted, it's no surprise that HOBY volunteers are so happy.
Jill Miller, HOBY’s 2008 WLC Director of Ambassadors
The 2008 World Leadership Congress (WLC) will be held on July 25 - August 2, in Washington DC. Approximately 500 Ambassadors from around the globe are expected to attend, which in turn, will require more than 100 adults and youth to volunteer their time and talents to tomorrow’s leaders before, during, and after the event. We invite you to become part of HOBY’s global youth leadership team by applying for a volunteer role that suits you best. You may select one of the key director positions, a traditional facilitator role, perhaps you would like to be apart of team alumni, or serve as an alumni section assistant.
