Nominate a Student to Attend HOBY
Our flagship program welcomes school and community-nominated high school sophomores to 3-4 day seminars each spring and summer. These student ambassadors participate in facilitated dialogue and abilities-based workshops to develop awareness of their leadership strengths and an understanding of their leadership values. Through these dynamic activities with their peers, students hone their skills and learn to recognize, amplify, and collaborate with the diverse strengths of others.
One weekend at a HOBY seminar unlocks a student’s leadership potential and helps them gain the confidence to make a positive impact on the world around them.
All high school sophomores are eligible to attend HOBY State Leadership Seminars. We are proud of our long-held partnerships with schools across the United States, and the majority of students attend a State Leadership Seminar after being nominated by their schools.
At HOBY, we believe leadership is a skillset to be learned and not a position to be held. We also know that leadership abilities are not defined by gender, race, or socioeconomic status, and we encourage you to consider all sophomores in your selection.
Our Community Nomination program welcomes HOBY alumni, volunteers, and partner organizations to nominate students for our State Leadership Seminars. Advocates for students who attend virtual or home schools, or students whose schools are unaware of or unable to participate in our programming, are also encouraged to nominate students through this program. Community Nominations help ensure that we continue to achieve our organizational goal of welcoming as many students as possible to this step on their leadership journeys.
Registering for the World Leadership Congress
The World Leadership Congress (WLC) is open to students aged 15-17. In order to welcome students from around the world, the WLC does not require a nomination to attend. Students are also welcome to participate even if they have not attended any other HOBY programs.
If you have any questions or would like more information about our programs, please let us know. We look forward to connecting with you!
